Basics of HTML


So, you want to know the basics of HTML (Hypertext Markup Language), eh? Okay, here goes:
HTML is one of the most popular web "languages". People all around the world use HTML to create web pages, and other web elements. So, here are some basics you will need to know, when starting your own website, or if you just need some help in certain areas.

  • Tags

    • "<b>" This tag will "bold" everything inside of it. To end the "bold" tag, simply use: "</b>"
    <i>ITALICS</i>
    <u>Underline</u>
    <s>Strike-through</s>
    <em>Put emphasis on something!</em>
    <sup>Super-Script</sup>
    <sub>Sub-Script</sub>
    <marquee>Marquee Something!</marquee>
    <marquee behavior="alternate">Marquee Something! (See how it "alternates"...watch...it will hit the sides and bounce back! COOL HUH?!)</marquee>
    <marquee behavior="scroll">This is the marquee scroll effect. It's pretty much the same thing, although you can make it direction itself.</marquee>
    <marquee behavior="slide">Marquee SLIDE</marquee>
    Yeah, so those are pretty much the basics...now you say you need a place to host your site? A free host? Okay...for you beginners, a list.
